Компания, ранее известная как "MB" (Mikrophon Bau), была основана в 1962 году. MB первоначально выпускала OEM продукцию для таких известных брендов, как Telefunken, Grundig и ITT. Mikrophon Bau (переводится дословно как «микрофонное строительство») была основана и принадлежала Mr.Kautz и двум главным инженерам Ehmann и Herbert Haun. Инженеры ранее проходили обучение в Beyerdynamic.
В 1966 году компания выпустила собственную линейку под маркой MB, в которую вошли наушники и гарнитуры. В 1967 году Manfred Schneider, специалист по конденсаторным микрофонам (в то время конденсаторные микрофоны повсеместно назывались электростатическими), покинул компанию Schoeps и пришел в MB, что расширило линейку продуктов компании. Это было начало эры конденсаторных микрофонов, и Mikrophon Bau чувствовала себя достаточно уверенно. Проблемы возникли позже, 1974 и 1975 годах появились электретные микрофоны. Время, за которое электретные микрофоны вытеснили остальные виды микрофонов, оказалось настолько мало, что компания MB не смогла оперативно перестроится с производства динамических микрофонов (которые составляли большую часть производства) и потеряла крупные заказы. Для того, что бы встать на ноги, в MB старались разработать систему с автоответчиками для Grundig, но разработка не удалась. Это повлекло за собой сокращение штата в виде 600-700 рабочих мест, а MB находилась в шаге от банкротства.
В 1975 году Peerless, известная компания на сегодняшний день, как производитель высококачественных динамических головок, приобретает активы MB и работа продолжается, где штат MB составилял 30 оставшихся человек. Название компании меняется, и это теперь Peerless Microphon Bau, в сокращенном варианте - Peerless MB.

Peerless, датская компания, была основана в 1962 году. Надо отметить, что MB Peerless и MB Quart были уникальными на рынке наушников по нескольким причинам. Они единственные, кто одновременно работал над развитием динамических, электростатических и ортодинамических наушников в плоской конструкции Дженклина (Jecklin Float).
В Jecklin Float конструкции делались электростатические модели PMB 1000 и PMB 500, ортодинамические PMB 100. Интересными моделями были PMB85, PMB85 Dual Action и Silvertone SL, в них использовались динамические излучатели и у Dual Action и Silvertone SL было по два динамика на канал.

Сегодня, Germany Maestro выпускает только линейку динамических студийных наушников в более современном эргономичном дизайне.

Конструкцию Jecklin Float в современных моделях можно видеть в линейке Ergo наушников от Pricide, где на данный момент есть три модели Ergo Mod 1 и Ergo Mod 2 - динамические модели и Ergo AMT – с драйвером Хейла.

PMB 8, PMB 6 и PMB-80 являлись ортодинамическими моделями в привычной современной конструкции. Ортодинамические наушники обеспечивали (и сейчас обеспечивают) более лучшие импульсные характеристики, в отличии от динамических наушников. Однако в противовес, современные динамические наушники гораздо легче, ортодинамических моделей, что послужило их уходом с рынка.
В модели PMB 45 Kardamatic использовалась специальная подвеска чашки, которая перекочевала в современные модели German Maestro. Сегодня такая подвеска используется в наушниках GMP 400, GMP 450 PRO, GMP 435 S, GMP 250 и GMP 240.
Peerless MB получает неплохое развитие, и насчитывает 100 человек в штате. Первый ортодинамический преобразователь разработан и успешно внедрен в OEM проекты для Dual, Denon, Goodmans, Saba, Telefunken и других.
Вместе с Joerg Jecklin, создателем наушников Jecklin Float, разрабатывается и Jecklin Disc – конструкция для бинауральной записи с двумя микрофонами.

Joerg Jecklin - бывший главный звукоинженер Swiss Radio (швейцарского радио), изобретатель Jecklin наушников, Jecklin Disc, а также других различных видов записей и кодирования информации, направленных на сохранение пространственной глубины и сохранения их в записи.
В 1983 Peerles решает уйти с европейского рынка и перепродает компанию Alfred Götz, после чего компания получает название MB-Electronic GmbH. В середине восьмидесятых сделаны первые акустические системы для дома и автомобиля, с ставшими известными твиттерами с титановой мембраной. Помимо этого, название видоизменяется, и вместо ранее использовавшегося Peerless появляется название Quart.
По одной из версий, такое название не пришлось по вкусу японским дистрибьюторам и повлекло к изменению названия на MB Quart. При этом в 1989 году название снова сменилось на более длинное - MB Quart Akustik und Elektronik GmbH, видимо для того, что бы из названия было лучше понятно, что компания занимается не только микрофонами, но и акустическими системами и всем, что с этим связано.
В 1992 году Alfred G?tz покидает MB Quart и передает Dr.Busch. В это время MB Quart прекращает производство микрофонов, и Herbert Haun, занимавшийся микрофонами, покидает компанию приобретя часть активов компании (вероятно, то оборудование, с помощью которого производились микрофоны). После Herbert Haun основал свою компанию MBHO (Mikrofon Bau Haun Obrigheim), которая и по сей день выпускает микрофоны.
Фактически, это разделение компании, где MBHO продолжает делать микрофоны, а MB Quart – акустические системы.
В 2001 Rockford Fosgate приобретает MB Quart и решает бросить все ресурсы на разработку новой серии VERA, вместо текущих проектов. Это потребовало больших вложений в новую оснастку и в данный период новых моделей выпущено не было, а производились только старые.

В 2005 Rockford Fosgate покидает MB Quart и в течении года компания проходит процедуру банкротства.
В 2005 году компанию приобретает Maxxsonics USA. Это не привело к положительному результату, и Maxxsonics USA переводит производство в Китай, снижая издержки. В 2008 году большая часть сотрудников покинули компанию. Руководство и инженеры объединили усилия и вместе с частным инвестором выкупили активы у бывшего владельца. В итоге появилась компания MAESTRO Badenia Akustik und Elektronik GmbH. Производство соответственно разместилось в Германии.
Исходя из истории компании, можно сделать вывод, что основной проблемой в развитии был не умелый менеджмент, который приводил компанию к разорению, а потом к очередному вливанию средств и последующим экспериментам. К сожалению, только одних талантливых инженеров не достаточно, что бы бизнес шел в гору, а компаний, которые не сменили несколько раз свое имя единицы. У большинства компаний, имеющих богатую историю, есть как взлеты, так и падения.
Сейчас перед нами обновленная компания, и хочется надеяться, что теперь менеджмент не будет делать промахов в управлении, а инженеры продолжат свою работу, создавая удачные продукты.
Одной из особенностей наушников Germany Maestro является их конструкция. Наушники не используют в оголовье металлических вставок, за счет чего наушники сверхлегкие. Обычно, отсутствие металлических деталей приводит к меньшей прочности, однако Germany Maestro использует специальный гибкий и упругий пластик, который можно гнуть по-разному, без опасений сломать их.
Наиболее интересными для аудиофилов являются модели 400 и 450. Обе модели высокоомные, но одна открытая, а другая закрытая.
В свое время была реклама, где в студии на наушниках чуть ли не прыгали и они не ломались, доказывая свою прочность.
Другой особенностью используемого пластика является специальное антирезонансное свойство, которое гасит внутренние волны и тем самым обеспечивает чистое звучание.
В линейке у Germany Maestro есть как низкоомные наушники, так и высокоомные в виде GMP 400, GMP 450 PRO, GMP 8.300 D и GMP 8.400 D. Высокоомные модели у Germany Maestro достаточно не дорогие и являются актуальными для тех, кто к примеру обзавелся не дорогим ламповым усилителем (к примеру Laconic LanchBox Pro 6 – популярным бюджетным решением на сегодняшний день), и хочет взять соответственно высокоомные наушники в невысоком бюджете.
